148th birth anniversary of Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore
Rabindranath Tagore was born on 7Th May 1861 in Calcutta. He was the youngest son of the Devendranath tagore and Sarada devi. He was an Indian poet and philosopher who introduced Indian culture to the West and vice versa. He founded Shantiniketan which later became Visva Bharati University. Gitanjali, Gora, and Ghare-Baire are among his best-known works.
He wrote national anthems of both India and Bangladesh. He got Nobel Prize in literature 1913, first Asian to get it. He died on August 7, 1941.
