- Chief Election Commissioner, N Gopalaswami announced today
- Lok Sabha election polls will be held in five phases from April 16 to May 13
- Jammu and Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh will have five phased polls
- Bihar will have four phased elections
- Maharashtra and West Bengal will have three phased polls
- Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Punjab will have elections in two phases
- Remaining 15 states and 7 union territories will have one day polling
- In First Phase will go on April 16th, Second Phase on April 23, Third Phase on April 30th, Fourth Phase on May 7th and Last phase on May 13th
- Elections to assemblies in Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim and Orissa will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha polls
